Do not include passwords, personal data, client data or confidential documents.

1. OUTCOME
Which step should become simpler? Who will use the result?
Describe one verifiable outcome in a sentence.

2. CURRENT PROCESS
What steps do you follow today and with which tools and versions?
How often? Approximately how many rows, documents or requests?
Who corrects errors and who approves the result?

3. INPUT
Where does the file or request come from? What fields does it contain?
Describe dates, numbers, identifiers and required fields.
Use 3–5 INVENTED rows, not rows copied from real records.
Which duplicates are valid? What should happen to missing data?

4. OUTPUT
What file, screen or document should be produced?
Which counts and amounts must reconcile?
Who should be able to read, change or approve the result?

5. ACCEPTANCE TEST
A valid case: input -> expected result.
An invalid case: input -> expected error or review outcome.
A repeated run: how should duplicates or overwrites be prevented?

6. ENVIRONMENT AND CONSTRAINTS
Where will the component run? Who is responsible for releasing it?
Are APIs, accounts, licences, hosting, roles or scheduling needed?
State a requested date and dependencies still to be checked.
Do not attach credentials; access is agreed only when required.

7. SCOPE
Which single component must work in the first delivery?
What is explicitly excluded? Who is responsible for it?

FICTIONAL EXAMPLE
Every Monday an operator exports order code, date, status and amount as CSV.
They need a weekly report and a separate list of ambiguous rows.
Acceptance: every row has an outcome, totals reconcile and order codes retain
leading zeros. Automatic source exports and email delivery are out of scope.
A weekly frequency does not imply that a server schedule is already configured.
